Children

From a very young age, children have an incredible ability to quickly learn how to use technology, requiring very little intervention to start exploring the digital world. The biggest obstacle for under privileged children is often the lack of access to digital devices.

Technology

Technology is an incredible leveler – it is equally accessible, independent of gender, age, ethnicity and social background. Disadvantaged children can be discriminated against in many visible and invisible ways, but on the internet, they have the chance to be completely equal.

Volunteers

Tech 2 Kids provides an amazing opportunity for technology savvy citizens to give something back to their community by volunteering their time and skills. The type of work being done presents a great way for new industry entrants to gain experience and fine tune their skills.

Sourcing

Sourcing

Tech 2 Kids sources technology through three channels - donations of new equipment, purchasing equipment from funds raised and by offering a recycling service for organisations that are disposing of equipment that is no longer required.

Distributing

Distributing

Tech 2 Kids partners with other charitable and community organisations to identify suitable beneficiaries for our services. We then prioritise and distribute the appropriate technology. This step includes training the beneficiary child and supporting them as they learn to use the device.

Recycling

Recycling

When equipment is provided that has been used, Tech 2 Kids' volunteers clean and re-purpose the item. This involves all the necessary steps to prepare the item to be used by a beneficiary child. This includes securely wiping old data, reinstalling software, upgrading memory or disks, replacing accessories, and sourcing user manuals.
